About

Marie Hall has always had a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

On top of that she’s a confirmed foodie, she nearly went to culinary school and then figured out she could save a ton of money if she just watched food shows religiously! She’s a self-proclaimed master chef, certified deep sea dolphin trainer, finder of leprechaun’s gold at the end of the rainbow, and rumor has it she keeps the Troll King locked away in her basement. All of which is untrue, however, she does have an incredibly active imagination and loves to share her crazy thoughts with the world!

Hi I love your books I was just wondering I own a small in home cupcakery have you ever made the mad chatter cupcakes or were they just a book item

Unknown said...

Not sure if I did that in the right place or what its my first blog comment lol I started an account to ask about it so thanks

Unknown said...

Hi Danelle! :D First of all, thanks so glad you enjoyed my books. Secondly, rock on with that cupcake business. I've always considered doing that if the writing thing doesn't pan out. ;)

So yeah, I'm a hardcore cupcake fantatic. Watch the cupcake wars religiously. All my ideas sprang from that show in fact. I've only ever made the Red Velvet cupcakes, aka Red Queen's Revenge, but the rest are super easy to make. Find any recipie online that has a fruit based substance, substitute applesauce for say guava puree and the rest stays as is. There's a million different variations of basically the same recipie. As for the frostings, again, super easy. I usually use a simple cream cheese frosting and add about a tbsp of tequila or whatever other liquid you want. Now, keep in mind that doing that will create a runny frosting so you might need to beef up on the powerdered sugar just a tad, but seriously... very easy. :D

I've actually included Alice Hu's Red Queen's Revenge recipie on the back of the Kingdom Collection book.

If you have any further questions feel free to write me at mariehallwrites@gmail.com

Great hearing from ya! ;)

Hi Marie! I just wanted to stop by and say "hi" and I'm a brand new fan as of 5 a.m. this morning. I saw that Her Mad Hatter was free on Amazon and I can't resist free books. Anyway, it was the plot that intrigued me, so I started reading it and I was hooked. What a unique take on popular fairy tales!

Unknown said...

Yay! Thanks. :D The next series within Kingdom will be called the Dark Princess Series and yes, the sixth book is called The Huntsman's Prey. ;) In fact, I've released a short story today told from Danika's pov, it's the set up to book 6. It's already out on Smashwords and I'm hoping will be available everywhere else by tomorrow. :D

Glad you enjoyed them.

Hi Marie! I just started reading Hook's Pan and so far I love it! But, I just have to ask, how did you chose Trish's hometown of Lebanon, Missouri? That is actually my home town and it NEVER gets mentioned in anything as it is just a blip on the map. Have you been there before?

Unknown said...

Hi Jenny, actually my family lives in Philipsburg and I love going antiquing in Lebanon. So it was just my little homage to a place I know and love and that (you're right) NEVER gets any love. :p Glad you're enjoying the book!

Unknown said...

Hi

I just wanted to say thankyou. I loved the kingdom series (a lot), so decided to download and read "A Moment". I have to say... There are few stories that grip me, that make me not put it down until the very last page is turned. There are even fewer that leave me thinking abuot them afterwards, about the characters and situations and mostly, the impact they have on me. I found that after finishing "A Moment" (In just shy of two and a half hours), I found myself just stunned. Normally, my praise for a story is to say "Oh I loved it" or "It's a really good read" and urge people to try it, but that would not be enough. It was beautifully written, and I just cannot thank you enough for it. Please keep writing. Always.

Unknown said...

Thank you so much for those words, Spyder! I love knowing that characters who mean so much to me mean just as much to others. :)

Unknown said...

I just found out about your series last Monday, and I have already read up to Wolf. I can't express how much I've fallen in love with this series!! I dare say, it'll make a better show than True Blood!! Keep up the amazing work Marie Hall! And btw, I loved how you included Gerard's recipe! <3

spyderskiss said...

I found these books by sheer luck. Then i fell in love with the hatter. This meant that i quickly searched for and downloaded all the rest of the kingdoms bad boy books. Now i think James Hook ranks as my favorite fantasy. Hats off to you and please write more for us to drool over soon.

Unknown said...

Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate it and am drafting up the sixth book now, which will be about The Huntsman and Hatter's daughter :)

And Maria, better than True Blood, wow... quite a compliment! :p

Unknown said...

Marie Hall, yes WAY better than True Blood! I just finished Hook's Pan...WOOOOW! I fell completely in love with Hook and Trisha! (I read it all in one go.) Loved the way she challenged him, finally a "non-bella" character that doesn't salivate after the guy. Can't wait for more!

Unknown said...

Thank you, Maria. :)I loved those two, I won't lie though, I was a little worried that Hook was maybe too brash, but after so much reader response, I'm thinking that my readers enjoy their bad boys just like I do. A little raw, dirty, and dangerous. LOL!

And I'm going to start reading now that my great friend Maria Delaz told me about your books! I'm so excited about it!!!

Unknown said...

Thank you so much, pisquenta! :)

Unknown said...

Paige, I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. :) I love my madcap crazy world, happy when others do too. :p

Unknown said...

Hello. I just started and finished the kingdom series. They were fantastic. I am hoping to be a writer too. Anyway I was just thinking of my favourite fairy tale character (it came to me while archery practice). Have you thought of writing about Robin Hood. I love him so much that my friends call me hood. I would love to read your version of him!!! :)

Unknown said...

Ha, funny you should mention him. I've been kicking around potential love interests and trying to decide who pairs with who, so you never know. ;) Glad you've enjoyed the books. And just so you know, I've just finished The Huntsman's Prey and am currently knee deep in revisions. If you haven't already, and are curious about release dates for any of my books make sure to sign up for my newsletter (the tab is right above us). I never spam, but I do release publication info and run the occasional contest there too. :)

Unknown said...

YES!! I can't wait!! Thank you!! :) :)

Hey Marie I enjoy your stories immensely. I wanted to ask if your ever thinking of making your books into Hardcover or paperback. As much as I love technology I love feeling the weight of a good book in my hands and the sound of it as I turn the pages plus I won't lose it in case my kindle dies on me or malefactions X)
Regards and many Blessings!

Unknown said...

Hi Sylvia, actually Kingdom series Book 1-5 are in print, along with A Moment and Right Now. :) You can find them for sale on Amazon and BN!

Unknown said...

Thank you for your great kingdom series. I can official say you put those characters into a different light . I really love the stories.

Unknown said...

Hi Marie! I wanted to say thank you! It took me a while to get into the Kingdom Series and now I haven't been able to put it down. I'm starting the Dark Princess series and I'm truly excited to see where you take us in these books. Thank you for writing love stories for the worlds best bad boys and please don't stop exploring your gift because you are truly blessed!

I don't have a Facebook or Twitter it just a suggestion I think Raven would be cute. Just a suggestion...

Unknown said...

A suggestion for the name to be included in Hood's Obsession? If so, I've dropped it into the hat. ;)

Abcde said...

Hey Marie,
I love your kingdoms series! And I can't wait to catch up on the ones I haven't read. Real quick question? Does Smee get a girl. I think the tall quiet irish man on hook's ship might need a companion. Just wondering. He's cute! ;)

Unknown said...

Hi Marie'
Just finished reading 'Magic After Dark'. I loved it for real! Pandora totally kicks ass, can't wait to read the follow up. I'm still grieving Kemen with her but sometimes it's just a part of life. Can't wait to get into your other reads.

Congratulations on a good novel... Loved it...

Judith :-)

Marie Hall...I have to thank you so much for giving up so much of your life to write your stories for fans like me. I live with chronic pain and I read to escape. You are the best painkiller I have read in years. I have bought all 8 of the Kingdom Series (waiting for June for the 9th), Eternal Lovers (both), Crimson Night (both), Chaos Time (all 3) and of course Magic After Dark Boxed Set. You have taken away many hours of pain and I know it takes you months to write. So I thank you!

Unknown said...

Awww <3 Thank you so much. I'm so sorry to hear about the pain, and if I can in anyway help to alleviate that (even just by reading a book) it makes me feel really good.

I'm hard at work on Hood and hope to have it out sooner rather than later. :)

Hugs!

Hi Marie,
I just want to pop by and say hello from the UK. I have to admit I stumbled upon your books by complete accident and I am forever greatful that I did. I cannot put them down. I am just reading Rumpel's Prize love it! Have you any plans to write another Kingdom adventure? I'm not sure I want it to end! Funny that I now look at Pan, Tink, Belle and the Beast in a totally different way now! :)

Keep telling your stories.

Mandy

Unknown said...

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it! :) I am writing many more books in the Kingdom Series. In fact I just wrapped up Hood's Obsession which will follow the big bad wolf's daughter and Giles who I introduced in Rumpel's Prize. :) It's slated for a July release date. :D

Unknown said...

Hi Marie, I absolutely adore your books. I discovered the Kingdom series 3 days ago and have to admit that in the span of 3 days I have read all of them. I am a culinary student and love the little recipes you have tucked into the books. For me it's like a little treasure because I get to read this amazing book and then (surprise!) food. :) I got my sister to start reading the Mad Hatter book and she loves it too. Very much looking forward to the remaining stories!

Unknown said...

Wow, I'm jealous. :p In another life I would have been a chef. When I sat down to evaluate what I loved more it was writing, by just a tad. But I'm still a major foodie and always heave a little sigh of "what if" when I bump into a chef, or even one in training. ;) So glad you've enjoyed the books and the recipes!

Happy reading!

I know you must get this a lot but i would love to get a signed copy of Gerard's Beauty. I grew up loving the beauty and the beast movie much like betty and strangely i was always upset when gaston couldn't be with belle. Although i know that she loved the beast but gaston had loved belle even when the town called her weird.Thank you for writing Gerard's Beauty because now i feel he has a happy ending too.

Unknown said...

Hi Chelsea, Gerard by itself isn't a print book. To get it you'd have to purchase the kingdom collection. I didn't put that book into print because of how small it is, so I combined the first 3 books of Kingdom into a set. It's a better deal anyway. :)

If you want me to sign it you can ship it to me, I'll sign it and I'll ship it back. :D

Very glad you enjoyed it.

Amethyst said...

Hey Marie! I love your books, and was wondering if you plan to sell signed copies of your books on your website in the future? :)

Unknown said...

Hi Amethyst,

actually you can buy my print books online and ship them directly to me. I sign them and send them right back. It's how I handle this for now. Someday down the line when I have a little time to figure out how to actually set up a shop on my website, I might do it. But for now that's about the only way.

And so glad you enjoy my books. :)

If you would like to ship them to me at anytime you can email me at mariehallwrites@gmail.com

Amethyst said...

Awesome!!! Thanks so much for the fast response, Marie! I'm going to order the books now and e-mail you once I get them. Thank you!! :)

Charlotte'xo said...

Hi, where can I buy your night series? I'm in the UK and can't find them anywhere! Thanks

Linda Adams said...

Charlotte'xo, write to me at mariehallwrites@gmail.com and I'll let you know. But since it's under a new pen name, I don't want it getting out there in the open again.

Charlotte'xo said...

Have done, thanks :)

Unknown said...

Hi, can you tell me when Codename: A might come out?

Unknown said...

All I can tell you is that I'm still working on it. if you'd like to know when exactly I'd suggest following Selene Charles as that's the pen name that will write it. :)

Unknown said...

Hello, I am very confused. I have read all of kingdom books, all of the night series, basically everything by Marie Hall. I noticed that the last book of the night series was under RS Black. How will I keep track of your
books? Please email: sdlesan@yahoo.com . Not sure what is happening. Hope that you can help me with that. It is unimaginable to me that there would be a world without Marie Hall in it.

This is Gloria Please get a hold of me..Your sister...I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND MOM. I HAVE CALLED HER MANY TIMES IN PAST. I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DR....but maybe when in Mildrad.. I see your the writer of this saga here. What have I done to make you do this.. Your Husband, or just have all Which Doctors to test me everyday...I have been robbed to be where I am.. And it ties to you..Like the new face. BTW...you look alot different.. Are you ok? Your in Miami or Hawaii? Correct...

Unknown said...

Witch Dr's that is. Are you one no... you always did have a vivid imagination and a way to express yourself and a way to not be able to control yours manly crushes. So now help me understand what I have done to deserve all of this. Are you going to have them pay me back every dime that they've taken from me. You don't even know who I am except for what you perceive that I am. I believe you know how to get ahold of me I am now trying to get ahold of you I have called the pain numbers that I know of and the only number that I really know of is the 903-880-8754 in your name at least that's what the stone person is making me believe. It's unfortunate though that most of these folks that you've written are copied off of another author. But I am proud of you but now I see you trying to play with my life and your husband.. and you know how sad that is that your husband has actually been with every female and then every male in my family reincarnated. And I am the original one not you he's not scared of you. So tell me what it is that I'm supposed to prove to you I think that I have already.
